Script Pitch Live is a live pitching showcase spotlighting emerging Muslim screenwriters and original feature film projects as part of the Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026.
Taking place live during the festival, selected writers will pitch their projects in front of an audience of filmmakers, producers, industry professionals and festival guests in a dynamic event celebrating the future of Muslim storytelling on screen.
Script Pitch Live is an opportunity to present your story, gain industry visibility and connect with creatives shaping the future of film.

Who can apply
We welcome submissions from emerging and early-career writers developing an original feature film project.
Applicants must be aged 18+.
How it works
Stage 1. Submit Your Project – Complete the online submission form before the deadline on Wednesday 3 June.
Stage 2. Shortlisting – Selected projects will be reviewed by the MIFF team and invited participants will be notified directly.
Stage 3. Live Pitch Event – Finalists will pitch their projects live during MIFF 2026 in front of audiences and industry guests.

Terms & Conditions
By submitting an application to Script Pitch Live 2026, applicants agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Applicants must be aged 18 or over at the time of submission.
1.2 Script Pitch Live is open to emerging and early-career writers worldwide.
1.3 Submissions must be original work created by the applicant(s).
1.4 The project must be a feature film (narrative, documentaries or animation concepts welcome) intended for screen.
2. SUBMISSIONS
2.1 Applications must be submitted via the official online form before the published deadline.
2.2 Late submissions may not be considered.
2.3 Applicants may submit more than one project; however, each project must be submitted separately.
2.4 All information provided must be accurate and complete.
3. RIGHTS & OWNERSHIP
3.1 Applicants retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to their submitted material.
3.2 By applying, applicants grant MIFF permission to review submitted materials for the purposes of selection, administration and promotion of Script Pitch Live.
3.3 Applicants confirm that they hold the necessary rights to all submitted materials and that the submission does not infringe the rights of any third party.
4. SELECTION PROCESS
4.1 All submissions will be reviewed internally by the MIFF team and/or invited industry reviewers.
4.2 Selection decisions are final and no correspondence regarding the outcome of applications will be entered into.
4.3 Selected participants may be required to provide additional materials, including biographies, headshots or presentation assets.
5. PARTICIPATION
5.1 Selected participants are expected to attend Script Pitch Live in person on the scheduled event date unless otherwise agreed by MIFF.
5.2 Participants must be available for briefing and technical calls in advance of the event.
5.3 Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and visa arrangements unless otherwise stated by MIFF.
5.4 MIFF reserves the right to remove participants whose conduct is deemed inappropriate, discriminatory, abusive or damaging to the event or organisation.
6. EVENT FORMAT
6.1 MIFF reserves the right to amend the event structure, running order, judges, venue or timings where necessary.
6.2 Pitch timings and presentation formats will be communicated to selected participants in advance.
6.3 Participants may be asked to edit or shorten presentation materials for technical or scheduling reasons.
7. RECORDING & PROMOTION
7.1 Script Pitch Live may be photographed, filmed and recorded.
7.2 By participating, applicants grant MIFF permission to use participant names, images, biographies, project titles and event footage for promotional, editorial and archival purposes across print, digital and social platforms.
7.3 Participants may be featured in press, marketing materials and festival-related content.
8. LIABILITY
8.1 MIFF accept no responsibility for technical issues, incomplete submissions or lost materials.
8.2 MIFF shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense incurred by applicants in connection with participation in Script Pitch Live.
9. DATA & PRIVACY
9.1 Applicant information will only be used for the administration and promotion of Script Pitch Live and related MIFF activity.
9.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
10. GENERAL
10.1 MIFF reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
10.2 MIFF reserves the right to cancel or postpone Script Pitch Live if circumstances require.
10.3 Submission to Script Pitch Live constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
